Fordsmender is –

A painter, printmaker, wood-worker, language-inventor, paleontology- and paleoanthropology-enthusiast, wine-drinker and aspiring connoiseur. My interests are Netherlandish and early Italian Renaissance religious painting, Surrealism and automatism, Odd Nerdrum and his notion of Kitsch, harpsichords, early American furniture, clocks and the history of timekeeping, all things Neanderthal, dyes and the history of manufacturing color, heraldry and vexillology, Australian linguistics – especially RMW Dixon’s research, grammaticalization and Bernd Heine and Tania Kuteva’s research, the Enochian corpus, Enochian magick (from a purely historical perspective), the history of the occult, and Jung and Jungian thought: Neumann as well but especially Campbell. I work for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and I’m engaged to be married in November of 2016.
